What is Exercise Physiology?
Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs) are minimum 4 year university qualified allied health professionals. AEPs specialise in managing ongoing health conditions by delivering safe and effective clinical exercise, lifestyle and behaviour modification programs for the prevention, management and treatment of a large array of chronic diseases, injuries, and general conditioning.
The research behind exercise as a contributor to positive health in most populations is overwhelmingly positive and is being more widely used than ever before.
The Toorak Club Exercise Physiologists will assess and rate your health. They will then prescribe exercise that is specifically tailored to your immediate wellbeing. Your functional movement assessment will include a cardiovascular fitness test, cholesterol, lactate, and glucose blood testing.
Following your assessment, our AEPs will begin to re-program your training mindset with the most up to date training methodology and knowledge.
Just like Personal Training, our AEPs are available to conduct 1 on 1 sessions, 2 on 1 sessions and small group sessions.
Rebates are available via Private Health Insurance and Medicare (with a referral from your GP).
Referrals can be made as part of chronic disease management plans (CDM), General Practitioner Management Plans (GPMP), Team Care Arrangements (TCAs) and are also referred to as part of the Department of Veterinary Affairs (DVA).
